Welcome to the YoungMX website!

The YoungMX Media Player strives for ease of managing large libraries. It allows you to have a single list of all files spanning many directories, separating out video and audio and including several library manipulation tools. The interface is completely skinnable and easy to make skins for, and it supports plugins that allow anyone to add on their own file formats or features. YoungMX is designed to make listening to music and watching videos as seamless and easy as possible. It allows the user to set global hotkeys, share media with others via http, specify which monitor videos output to, and many other useful features.

YoungMX and this website is a hobby run solely by me in my free time, and I hope you enjoy what I have put together in the last four years on and off. YoungMX is meant to be free for anyone to use as long as they don't profit from it in any way. If you really like YoungMX and would like to donate, feel free to, but keep in mind that I don't expect anything from anyone and it would be fine if it stayed that way.

YoungMX 0.9.72 is out, and is available from the Auto-Update menu! Grab it now while it's still hot from the oven. Highlights of this release include a final and perfect fix for the too-many-directories crash and disappear bug, and the ugly skin display error after running a DirectX game. Several smaller fixes help insure that this is one of the most stable releases I've put out.

I'm going to go ahead and post a preliminary rundown of what you should look forward to in the next version of YoungMX. Note that this won't be out for a bit, as I want this to be as stable a release as possible. If you have found a bug or want something in the next release, go ahead and post before it's too late...

I've gone ahead and released YoungMX 0.9.71 after fixing a few bugs. The most noticeable fix will be that file types handled by WINAMP plugins will no longer freeze every other song! Also added is an iTunes-like searching feature. Go ahead and go to Media -> Check for Updates to get this now.

I've gone ahead and added a File Formats section to the YoungMX website to assist new users in getting the most out of YoungMX. If there is a file format you have that won't play in YoungMX, I suggest you visit the page to find out what files YoungMX may be missing.

The new YoungMX is finally out. This one is big enough to merit it's own installer, and if you have been holding out to get YoungMX, now is the time to download it. I've added ogg and wma support, finished off the cd playback, and fixed a ton of issues. Head over to download the installer, or auto-update now to experience the new joy!

If anyone noticed the downtime (probably not), it was because I was switching hosts. Now I will be able to publicly host Dj Doboy and other dj files and not worry about bandwidth limits nearly as much! Look for a subsite for legal music downloads in the near future.

I am putting out YoungMX 0.9.67 tonight. It includes Audio CD support (FINALLY!) and CDDB support as well. Go ahead and download it and give it a try. Look for an installer for this version too in a few days.

Well, I didn't know it could happen, but RIP Winamp. Should be good news to me, but props to a player that made it so far.
