Welcome to the YoungMX website!

The YoungMX Media Player strives for ease of managing large libraries. It allows you to have a single list of all files spanning many directories, separating out video and audio and including several library manipulation tools. The interface is completely skinnable and easy to make skins for, and it supports plugins that allow anyone to add on their own file formats or features. YoungMX is designed to make listening to music and watching videos as seamless and easy as possible. It allows the user to set global hotkeys, share media with others via http, specify which monitor videos output to, and many other useful features.

YoungMX and this website is a hobby run solely by me in my free time, and I hope you enjoy what I have put together in the last four years on and off. YoungMX is meant to be free for anyone to use as long as they don't profit from it in any way. If you really like YoungMX and would like to donate, feel free to, but keep in mind that I don't expect anything from anyone and it would be fine if it stayed that way.

As promised, the newest update of YoungMX, 0.9.75, is out! I also put out a fresh installer as the old one was a year out of date. People with YoungMX already installed can of course just update from the autoupdate menu. Enjoy the new release!

Hey guys, long time since the last YoungMX update, and this one isn't too exciting either. I've just updated the Song-on-Desktop plugin that allows you to see which song was just played without having YoungMX or the minibar open, fixing a bug where it stole focus when popping up.

Eventually, I will be able to put out a new update of YoungMX that fixes a few things, but I have been very busy since last August from school. YoungMX is not dead yet!

Sorry for the downtime everyone! With all the music downloads, I simply ran out of bandwidth before I could catch it and put up a temporary stop to downloading. I'll try not to let it happen again, but donating to help purchase additional bandwidth would always be nice.

I finally put out the next release of YoungMX! You can get it the same way you have been getting the previous updates. Just go to the Media menu, and choose the Check for Updates option. Several crashes have been fixed in this release, as well as miscelaneous stuff to make everything appear more seamless. Sorry for such a long wait!

I finally got off my ass and released an update for YoungMX. We are up to 0.9.73 now, and there have been some major improvements to VBR playback and playlist modes. Check the auto-update menu for the rundown as to what got updated.

I have been kind-of slacking off on the site, ever since the forums died. There was a problem with phpbb and my host, and they have locked all the files in the forum as non-deletable or renamable. I am stuck with the files there, and no new installation of phpbb works, as my host automatically redirects it to the old forum site, and then locks it down. In all honesty, the forum was dead anyhow, so I think I should leave it like that. Expect to see the skins and such downloadable from the main site, and a bit of a redesign as well.

On YoungMX the player... I haven't really worked on it much either, being into Nintendo DS a lot recently. A complete lack of annoying bugs also stops me from pushing forward, though I do still have a feature request and a potential bug to investigate. Still nothing new with video mode, can't seem to get it to work properly no matter what I try.

Apparently the music downloads are getting quite popular. I'm at 99% bandwidth usage for the month so they are down until the first of July. Sorry folks, can't afford anything more at the moment. If you really need those pages up, consider donating to help get more bandwidth here.

I have gone ahead and made some updates to the plugins page. First off, the Mod Player plugin has been updated and now plays sound out of every speaker on your system, as apposed to only the front stereo speakers. Also, a new plugin has been added that creates a fading window that displays the current song.
